The Heat Maker
SAM DISTRICT ENERGY is a web-based solution for managing, controlling and optimizing heating and cooling systems. All key data on connected controllers, utility meters, PLCs and electric actuators are indicated at one central location. Gateways are used to record the energy consumption and make the associated data available on the SAM DISTRICT ENERGY platform. Based on these data, local and district heating networks can be assessed to improve their efficiency.
SAM Smart Detection
The SAM Smart Detection application reliably reveals faults and improper functioning in heat networks. This allows malfunctions to be removed before they can cause more severe problems in the systems. Additionally, the function helps optimize network operation.
SAM Energy Save
SAM Energy Save monitors the heat network's energetic properties. The application is used to prevent oversupply and achieve energy savings without impairing consumer comfort.
Control of network pumps
Energy efficiency in the operation of the network pumps calls for proper control of the differential pressure across the network. A good option is the worst-case control function, which is easy, flexible and quick to implement using SAM DISTRICT ENERGY.

Connectivity
-
Using Ethernet
The SAM HOME Gateway provides users with a wired connection to SAM DISTRICT ENERGY. All smart TROVIS 5500 Heating Controllers and other Modbus RTU devices can be connected using their RS-232/RS-485 interfaces and TTL ports. You only need to connect the Ethernet interface (LAN) of the gateway to your Internet router. Modbus communication at the integrated RS-485 interface of all controllers in the bus line enables them to be connected, monitored and controlled in SAM DISTRICT ENERGY using a gateway.
-
Using mobile phone networks
The SAM MOBILE Gateway provides users with a wireless connection to SAM DISTRICT ENERGY. All smart TROVIS 5500 Heating Controllers and other Modbus RTU devices can be connected at their RS-232/RS-485 interfaces and TTL port. Binary and analog inputs and outputs can be used to connect further peripheral equipment.
-
Using SAM-LAN
SAM-LAN gateways enable users to set up a meshed wireless network to connect (heating) controllers and utility meters. Special radio frequency bands are used for data communication to perform remote polling and operation of heating systems. Consequently, you are not tied to wired data lines.
